Linux Mint takes leadership on DistroWatch.com
Posted by admin | Category: Mint, Ubuntu | No Comments
Linux Mint distribution has become a “number one” in DistroWatch.com page hit rating. Ubuntu is now on the second position. The reasons for this are quite obvious.
While Canonical made radical changes in Ubuntu desktop environment implementing Unity, Mint developers are still thinking about conservative Linux users which insist on Gnome 2 desktop being far more convenient. The fact of Mint leadership doesn’t mean that this distribution becomes a leader by the number of installations but it’s a serious sign for what Linux community thinks about the newest desktop environment trends.
I definitely plan to try Linux Mint in the nearest future, especially being not quite satisfied with the latest Ubuntu version.
